Bail By Phone

The purchase of Kingman bail bonds can be conveniently handled over the  phone. You will not be required to travel as paperwork will be sent to your email, or fax. Bail and fees can be run on credit cards, or deposited into one of our bank accounts, paid with Zelle or wired.  Alternatively, we can always meet personally with you at the jail.

What is the Purpose of Bail?

Bail acts as a financial guarantee, allowing defendants to continue with their day to day activities while they await trial. Bail is held by the court until an inmate is sentenced and then it is returned to the poster.  If a defendant fails to go to their hearings, the bail would be forfeited.

What’s the difference between bail and bail bond?

Bail is the dollar amount required by the court to release an inmate from jail. Bail may be paid in cash, cashier’s check, money order, or by bond. A bail bond is a paper promise, which guarantees that the surety (bondsman) will pay the full bail amount in cash if the defendant doesn’t appear for his hearings. A bail bond, therefore, takes the place of cash.

How do I buy a Bail Bond?

In order to buy Kingman bail bonds, you must provide two things; cash to purchase the bond (a 10% fee plus expenses) and suitable collateral for security. Collateral may be cash, or real estate, but it must be equal in value to the bond.  Bail under $10,000 must be paid in full, while bail that is larger than $10,000 can use real estate for collateral.

Bail under $10,000

Kingman Bail Bonds™ will accept cash, or cash equivalent (credit card charges, bank deposits, wired funds, Zelle) for collateral when bail is set for less than $10,000. We do not take property for security on bonds under $10,000. This means the entire bail amount and fees would need to be paid in full.  We will act as your agent in posting the bond at the court, or jail, or you can post the bail yourself.

There are several benefits of having us post bail for you:

        1. You won’t need to travel, which is convenient for clients that live out of area, or out-of-state.
        2. We have the power to rearrest the defendant if you decide you no longer want them out on bail, or if they fail to appear for a hearing.
        3. We will ensure that your bail amount is returned to you upon exoneration and return of the bond ; fees are non-refundable.
        4. Bonds posted by a bondsman cannot be used to pay fines. Bail posted by the public may be subject to fines.
        5. You have us available to answer questions about the bond, its refund and case disposition.

Bail $10,000, or Larger

Real estate, and cash may be used to meet the collateral requirements for Kingman bail bonds that are $10,000, or larger. Real estate must be a frame-built home. Under some circumstances we may accept a free and clear mobile/modular home affixed on it’s own lot; location, value, and appearance are deciding factors.

Real estate used for collateral will be secured by a Deed of Trust, or Mortgage recorded at the county recorder’s office. Once the bond has been exonerated by the court, the lien will be released and a Deed of Release will be recorded.
